I offer evaluation and treatment services to patients 18 and older, including specialized consultations for patients with concurrent neurological problems.
Diagnostic Consultations
A thorough evaluation for treatment review and recommendations. An initial evaluation generally takes 60–90 minutes when the new patient forms are completed in advance. The aim is to assess your mental health needs and determine the best available treatment options, which may include referral to another provider.
Medication Management
Medication management means the use of medication to alleviate symptoms of mental illness or maintain stability during recovery. Visits are scheduled for 15–30 minutes depending on your needs; I typically begin with 30-minute appointments and transition to shorter visits once there are no significant active issues and the regimen has been stable.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is the use of talk and communication between patient and physician to improve your condition and facilitate recovery from mental illness, traumatic events, emotional difficulties, or loss. Sessions are scheduled weekly and last 45–50 minutes. Most therapy patients are seen one to three times per week.
Office-Based Opioid Treatment (Suboxone)
Buprenorphine (Suboxone) is an opioid partial agonist used to treat opioid dependence in the privacy of a physician's office. If you have developed a dependence on prescription or recreational opioids, I can see you for either ongoing maintenance or detox.
Referral & Care Coordination
Referral to non-M.D. psychotherapists for various types of specialized psychotherapy. If you are already in psychotherapy, please provide your therapist's contact information so I can review the status of your current treatment prior to your first visit.
