Communications and findings in a forensic engagement are generally not confidential. Reports, notes, and underlying data may be disclosed to retaining counsel, opposing counsel, the court, and other parties as required by law, court order, or the rules of procedure. Any person undergoing a forensic examination is advised of these limits before the examination begins.

Retention is by agreement with counsel or the retaining party. No opinion is offered, expressed, or implied outside a formal engagement, and no opinion should be inferred from the general educational content of this website. Fees are charged for time, not for outcome, and no engagement is accepted on a contingency basis. Opinions are formed on the evidence and are not adjusted to the interests of the retaining party.
